Peter Pepper GBX Starphire Glass Dry Erase Boards
Peter Pepper's GBX series of glass dry erase boards uses Starphire Glass. The Starphire low-iron glass of the GBX has less of a green tint than the tempered glass of Clear GB models, but note that even Starphire still has a tiny bit of a tint, especially in larger sizes. In both series, the glass is 1/4” thick with a white backing. Corners have a 1/4" radius with pencil-polished edges.
Do you need a magnet compatible surface? Only this GBX series is magnetic, the GB series is not. GBX models come with five rare earth magnets. Additional magnets can be ordered in sets of five.
Do you prefer a concealed wall mount or a stand-off mount? The concealed mount uses the classic cleat and bracket arrangement. The stand-off mount costs a bit more but presents a more contemporary look. Stand-off mounts are 1” diameter and 1-1/4” deep. The glass surface is inserted into the mounts’ notches and tightened with set-screws. An aluminum disc conceals the fasteners. Both the Starphire series and the Clear series can be specified with either the standard concealed mount or the optional stand-off mount style. Note that the concealed mount uses a pen rail which is attached to the board itself while the stand-off mount separates the board from the pen rail.
